We came on a Friday evening at like 7 and we got seated right away. The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable. The food was FANTASIC!! We got the BBQ pulled pork platter w creamy slaw and fried apples and the smoked ham platter w baked beans and fries. We also got the drunken potato spikes as an appetizer and they were SO good. This was also one of the cheapest date nights my bf and I have done in a long time. Highly recommend!!

Charming location.... way out in the country! Plenty of seating, able to accommodate larger groups. Food was good, nothing super special but definitely tasty and lots of it! Had the ribs, fell right off the bone. The German potato salad was super vinegary. Would plan a trip back for sure!

I'm not sure if they have the coldest beer as they claim, but the service is excellent and the food is very good. They have many choices of smoked meats and fish. Side dishes are tasty. The restaurant has a storied history and a special country charm. This old inn has been nicely restored and maintained. Reservations might be needed during peak hours if you want to have a seat near the windows or in a preferred location. Parking is rather limited near the building but a little walk is not a problem. We enjoyed our visits here.

I ate there at 6:00 on a Saturday and boy was it packed. It took a minute to get my order taken but that's understandable. Food came quickly once ordered. I got the rib gumbo. Excellent. I also tried the potato spear appetizer. It was also excellent. For my entree I got the Nisbet Platter. It came with ribs, smoked chicken, and a slice of pit pork butt. You get 2 sides plus rye bread and a pickle spear. Everything was very good. I love their bbq sauce. 4 stars only because of the wait. Food is 5 stars.

Went here for supper with a couple of friends. I ordered the smoked tilapia with baked potato and slaw. The tilapia did taste smoked and very tender, well cooked. The baked potato was done and the slaw was very good. I enjoyed my time there. One of the men with me ordered ribs, they looked very good and he couldn't eat them all, they were covered in barbecue sauce, he said next time he would order them dry with sauce on the side. Nice place to go. Lots of history in this little place.

This was a trip down memory lane for my husband... his father used to bring him there as a child. It was nice to see all the history in the building. The food was excellent! Our group had a little bit of everything on the menu... it was all very good. The service was great! The only thing I'd comment about the atmosphere is that if you're not a local, the patrons in there will let you know. When we walked in, we got the "you're not from here" looks. If you're in the area... you've gotta get it. Edit: Date of Visit: June 9, 2023
